¡Adelante! America Youth Leadership Program:
The program provides youth in middle and high school with appropriate support to deal with the challenges of adolescence in immigrant families and prepares them for the independence and responsibilities of adulthood.
This program is designed to build leadership skills, improve academic performance, instill an attitude of community service and reduce behaviors that lead to disciplinary action. The activities that are included in the program are centered around 1) career orientation and guest speakers, 2) critical thinking and problem solving activities, 3) planning and implementing a community service project and a youth leadership conference, and 4) field trips. There are 32 students currently enrolled in the program.
